What should I include when requesting a consultation?

Do I need to know which procedure I need before scheduling?
No. Many patients are not sure whether they need blepharoplasty, ptosis repair, brow surgery, thyroid eye disease treatment, or another approach. The consultation is designed to evaluate the cause of the concern and explain the appropriate options.
Does Dr. Ugradar see thyroid eye disease patients?
Yes. Dr. Ugradar evaluates patients with thyroid eye disease, including bulging eyes, eyelid retraction, inflammation, double vision, cosmetic changes, and surgical reconstruction after the active phase of disease.
Can I be seen for a revision or complication from prior eyelid surgery?
Yes. A significant focus of the practice is complex eyelid, orbital, and revision surgery. Prior operative records, photographs, and relevant imaging may be helpful; the office can guide you on what to bring after scheduling.
Will insurance cover my visit or procedure?
Coverage depends on your insurance plan, diagnosis, examination findings, and whether the concern is considered functional or cosmetic. The office can help clarify next steps after your consultation and documentation are complete.
What if my concern is urgent?
This website and contact form are not monitored for emergencies. If you have sudden vision loss, severe pain, rapidly worsening symptoms, or another urgent concern, call 911 or seek urgent medical care immediately.
Should I bring prior surgical records or photos?
Yes, if you have them. Prior operative reports, old photographs, imaging, visual field testing, and previous consultation notes can be especially helpful for revision cases or complex thyroid eye disease concerns.
Do you offer virtual consultations?
Virtual consultation may be appropriate in selected cases, especially for patients traveling from outside the immediate area or seeking an initial opinion about a complex concern. Some conditions still require an in-person examination before treatment recommendations can be finalized.
